Bandit: Plane Spotter
Delete a Bandit account
Bandit: Plane Spotter accounts use Google Firebase for sign-in, game-progress backup, photo backup, global rankings, squads and friends. You never need an account to play, and playing signed out leaves nothing on our servers.
How to delete your account and data
In the app: open Account, choose Delete account, and sign in again when asked. The account and the data below are deleted straight away. You do not need to contact us.
If you cannot use the app, email banditplanespotter@gmail.com from the address used for your Bandit account with the subject Delete my Bandit account. Include your public display name if you know it. Do not send your password. We will check the request against the account and complete it within 30 days, then confirm by email.
What is deleted
- your sign-in account in Firebase Authentication;
- your private cloud backups: cards, scores, logbook entries and logged sighting locations;
- your backup photographs and the reduced-size shared copies of your card photographs in Firebase Storage;
- your entry on the global leaderboard, your profile, your shared cards and shared logbook, and any reactions you gave;
- your squad membership, scores, profile and squad sightings, your friends links, any pending friend requests or squad invitations you sent, reactions you gave, and your list of blocked players;
- if you signed in with Apple, Bandit's access to your Apple ID is revoked.
What is not deleted
- Anything stored on your phone. Remove it by uninstalling Bandit or, on Android, using Settings → Apps → Bandit → Storage → Clear storage.
- Photographs you backed up to your own Google Drive (Android) or that are in your iCloud or Google device backup. Those belong to your Google or Apple account; delete them there (Google Drive › Settings › Manage apps).
- Things other people have already seen or saved, such as a friend's screenshot.
- Crash reports in Firebase Crashlytics, which are not linked to your account and expire on Google's standard schedule. Email us if you want the installation identifier on your phone deleted.
- Reports you filed about other players, and reports about you, which we may need to keep to protect other players.
- Information we must keep by law. Routine Google backups of deleted data are overwritten on Google's normal cycle.
Signing out does not delete an account. Account deletion is permanent and cloud progress cannot be restored afterwards. Your cards and progress on your phone stay, and you can keep playing signed out. If you used Sign in with Apple, you can also stop Bandit using your Apple ID in Settings › your name › Sign-In & Security › Sign in with Apple.
